It has been exactly 9 months since I started working at Uptale, the leading Spatial Learning platform in France (VR/AR/XR…), and soon to be worldwide 😁. So immersed in this dynamic environment, I haven’t even had time to write a “big post” 😜 or update my profile to announce this new chapter.

Just before joining Uptale, my best professional experience was at Dentsu. Unfortunately, that experience was cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic. But over the past five months at Uptale, I can confidently say that this new adventure has taken the top spot among my professional experiences. (Thanks to URBAN LINKER and precisly Martin Guerry for this great match😉)

I am extremely grateful to work in this innovative startup, where we have the privilege of developing cutting-edge technologies in an increasingly competitive market. We have a significant lead that we strive to maintain and even strengthen.

The privilege of working within an incredibly skilled team was intimidating at first. During the first few months, I wondered if I would be able to fit in and find my place.

Curious, passionate, and determined to overcome all obstacles, we are building the best possible product to serve our clients in the best way. It is certainly the most challenging work environment of my career (and my short life for that matter 🤣). Discovering new technologies (frameworks, tools…), new best practices, work methodologies (bug bash, fix-it day, special week) that address problems I encountered in previous experiences better than the approaches used there, optimizations to be made, security vulnerabilities to monitor…

Learning to be attentive to the demands of clients and partners, regardless of their level of requirement, is also crucial. I feel truly challenged and stimulated. I am constantly pushed, like the rest of the team, to be curious and creative in solving the concrete problems we encounter daily.

To date, I have worked on three projects. My first project was about a Theme feature on the Web platform, mainly allowing clients to set global experience themes, thereby enhancing the visual rendering of their experiences.

The second project focused on data engineering and processing, where it was necessary to transform and improve our data pipeline. I am currently wrapping up my third project, a 360 video chaptering feature (yes, a bit like on YouTube 😁). I will detail all this in my CV 😎. If you can even roughly guess the intention of my next project, I’ll buy you a coffee😆😅

(Hint: it involves AI/GPT🪄😉)

Under the supervision of my managers, I am learning to evaluate, prioritize, and deliver requests within sometimes very tight deadlines. I also have the privilege of working within a team that is not only highly competent but also very supportive, where teamwork mentality is paramount. We work together, support each other, and move in the same direction by sharing our experiences and learnings. 🥰

It is truly a very enriching experience that allows for growth, surpassing oneself, and becoming a better developer (in my case).

Beyond the purely engineering aspect, this experience is an excellent opportunity for me to learn about the setup and operation of a successful business. I am fascinated by the necessary symbiosis between different departments, such as sales, marketing, communication, content production, customer success managers… Working in perfect harmony is crucial to achieve the desired results, and I am fortunate to learn all this thanks to the excellent culture of transparency in the company. ✨

In short, I am fully an Uptaler now 😁 and I hope to make a significant contribution to the company… And beyond, with the team, to the future of immersive training solutions.
